Accessibility policy
At Ac Automotive Technical Service we constantly strive to make our website easy to access and use for everyone. We do this by following the Section 508 rules and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C, the governing body of the web).
Following the Section 508 guidelines is a legal obligation. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are a set of checkpoints and guidelines that help ensure web pages are designed and written correctly. Some examples are:
• Images must have alternate text (so if you can’t see the image, you can still read the text).
• The color contrast between the foreground and the background must be noticeable.
• Possibility of adjusting the size of the text according to the user’s preferences.
• Headings must be used correctly and have a purpose (they are not just regular text made bold or larger).
• Links should make sense on their own (eg no links that just say “click here”).
• Charts and tables should be used to design information expressing different values and should have appropriate headings and summaries.
For those familiar with Section 508 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines; our goal is to achieve compliance with AA standards throughout our site. We also look for opportunities to meet AAA standards.

Information collected and stored automatically
During your visit to the ACATS website we may store some or all of the information described below: the Internet address from which you accessed the site, the date and time, the Internet address from which you linked to our site, the name of the file or words you searched for, the links you clicked on a page, and the browser and operating system you used.
This information is used to measure the number of users who access different sections of our site and identify the performance of our system or problems to solve. We also use this information to expand the coverage of the site, analyze usage patterns, and make the site more useful. However, this information is not used to associate terms or browsing patterns of users. ACATS deletes these files periodically. On occasion, ACATS may provide this information to contracted companies for the sole purpose of performing data analysis. ACATS does not share this information for advertising, marketing or any other commercial purpose.
Use of persistent “Cookies”
Like many websites, ACATS uses persistent cookie technology. A persistent cookie is a small text file that our site uses to collect anonymous demographic information and remember your browser when it is used again to visit our site in the future. These persistent cookies only identify a computer’s browser, never a person. That is, if a person uses Chrome and Internet Explorer, two persistent cookies will be assigned, one for each browser, and the same person will be counted as two different users based on the use of the browsers and not the computer or person. ACATS uses persistent cookies in a number of ways to enhance your site experience while protecting your privacy:
To recognize you when you return to the site. Our persistent cookie is to make sure our site is faster for you to navigate unless 90 days have passed since you logged into the ACATS site.
To obtain statistical information about the use of the site that helps us understand how the public uses the site and how we can improve it. ACATS uses services to measure statistical data about site activity.
To collect anonymous demographic information about our users such as gender, age, and areas of interest from adults 18 and older. We do this by using Google Demographics and Interests Reports. When you visit a website associated with the Google Display Network, Google stores a number in your browser using a persistent “cookie” to remember your visits. This number uniquely identifies a browser on a computer, not a person. Browsers may be associated with a demographic category, such as gender or age, based on the sites they visited. ACATS uses this demographic information to better understand users’ interests and create content that best meets their needs.
Most Internet browsers automatically accept persistent cookies. Although we believe that the use of persistent “cookies” helps you have a better experience with the site, ACATS also works without them. If you do not want to accept cookies, you can modify your browser options to stop accepting persistent cookies or to receive a warning before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. See how to disable “cookies” (in English).

In this case, we use said information to respond to your message and to be able to attend to your request.
